Recently, the 2025 Annual Conference of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (hereinafter referred to as "ITMF") was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Nearly 350 representatives from the global textile industry from 31 countries and regions gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges on the key issues affecting the current development of the textile industry.


Sun Ruizhe, president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), Xu Yingxin and Yan Yan, vice presidents of CNTAC, heads of relevant departments and professional associations under CNTAC, as well as representatives of industry enterprises, a total of 35 people attended the meeting together.


This conference is themed "Grasping Uncertainty & Technology Leadership - Sustainable Development Path for the Textile and Garment Industry". Exchanges and discussions were held on topics such as "Indonesian Textile Industry", "Fibers - Cotton and Synthetic Fibers", "Sustainability, Regulations and Tariffs", "Decarbonization", "Technology Leadership", "Factory Inspection Fatigue", "Start-ups", and "ITMF Awards".


During the "Sustainability, Regulations and Tariffs" session, Yan Yan, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, delivered a speech titled "Sustainability Leading Development - China's Textile Policy Framework and Collaborative Actions". In her future outlook, she called for a focus on four main aspects: basic research - exploring methods to control and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and formulating relevant standards at both the organizational and product levels; Alliance Cooperation - Strengthening cooperation and action through participation in the UNFCCC FICCA Working Group, implementation of the 30·60 Net Zero Acceleration Program, joining the CNTAC-LCA working Group, and promoting the Fashion Forest Initiative; Capacity building - Committed to technology promotion, database construction, investment in renewable energy, and reduction of Scope3 emissions; Industry impact - Drive the progress and development of the entire industry by hosting climate management fashion summits, participating in intercontinental Textile ESG/ carbon neutrality conferences, collaborating with downstream customers, and enhancing the transparency and traceability of the supply chain.


During the conference, the International Textile Federation elected a new chairperson and members of the decision-making committee. At the "ITMF Management Committee" meeting, Yan Yan, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, was unanimously elected as the new vice chairperson of the ITMF and became the first female vice chairperson in the history of the ITMF.


At the awarding ceremony of the "ITMF Awards", Chinese enterprises performed outstandingly: Lianyungang Du Zhongxin Aoshen Spandex Co., Ltd. won the "2025 ITMF Sustainability and Innovation Award" for its "Industrial Production of High-Performance Bio-based Spandex" project, which has promoted the transformation of the spandex industry towards green and low-carbon through technological breakthroughs. Tangshan Sanyou Group Xingda Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. has won the "2025 ITTF International Cooperation Award" with its practical achievements of "Next-generation Textile Materials, Creating a New Era of Cross-border Cooperation". Through material innovation and global collaboration, it has built a new industrial ecosystem. These two honors fully demonstrate the benchmark strength of Chinese mainland textile enterprises in global sustainable development and international cooperation.


The conference has extended an invitation that the 2026 ITMF Annual Conference will be held in Brazil in October 2026.


During their stay in Indonesia, the delegation visited the Donglong Group's factory in Indonesia and held a discussion and exchange with representatives of local Chinese-funded textile enterprises.
